About: “Spring Awakening” is the coming of age story of students preparing to enter “high school” in 1890 Germany. The main character, Melchior questions the institution, while his friend, Moritz, is struggling to do well in school and not get kicked out. Wendla, discovers that he mother has lied to her about what sex is and isn’t. While Wendla’s friends experience abuse at home. Hanschen and Ernst discover feelings for one another, in a society that says homosexuality is wrong. The show is set to a contemporary rock score that will make you laugh and cry.
